『骨が語る古代の家族 親族と社会』②－図示してくれないと理解できない ― 2009/07/19 21:12
『骨が語る古代の家族 親族と社会』田中良之（吉川弘文館）を、ぼちぼち読み進めているのですが、これがまた、なかなかの難しさ。
内容の良し悪しについては、いまのところ何とも言えないのですが、もう少し図示してくれないと、ちょっと理解できない、そんな印象が強くなってきました。
例えば、同じ古墳に埋葬されている複数の人骨の親族関係を分析するのに、歯冠なんとか法？という歯の形状の比較による分析方法を用いています。（すいません、ちゃんと覚えていないくせに、読み返さずに書いています。）
その方法について特に疑問はありません。
しかし、その古墳から出土した人骨のうち、６人くらいが、分析の対象として用いることができた場合、人骨同士の比較の組み合わせは多数になります。
それぞれの人骨には、例えば１号墓の２号人骨、３号墓の１号人骨のように呼ぶのですが、その呼び方で、さまざまな組み合わせについての、親族関係の可能性を述べても、頭の中で整理できないのです。
それぞれの人骨については、埋葬時の推定年齢（年代）や性別、また、ある人骨と人骨の埋葬時期の違いなど、あらかじめ推定した上での上記の分析なのですが、それらを思い起こしながら分析結果を読むことができないのです。
