『縄文人と「弥生人」古人骨の事件簿』②・・・やっぱりミステリー？ ― 2009/04/19 19:45
見込み違い？勘違い？それとも、タイトル通り？
読み進めていくと、なんとなく違和感を感じてきました。
そう、私の思い描いていたイメージと、何か違うのです。
タイトルにある”縄文人と「弥生人」”、この部分がメイン・タイトルだと思っていたので、この本全体が縄文人と弥生人の人骨に関する話なのかと勘違いしていました。
どちらかというと、メイン・タイトルは、”古人骨の事件簿”の方で、”縄文人と・・・”は、その中の一部、といった感じです。
内容を、章ごとに紹介すると、次のようになります。
もちろん、全ては”骨”の話です。
【第１章】
縄文人と「弥生人」の違いや、ポリネシア人など、縄文人の仲間と考えられる人たちについて
【第２章】
弥生時代前期の縄文人に似た人の話と、縄文人が漁労に関わっていたかどうかを外耳道骨腫から考察。
【第３章】
謎の死を遂げた弥生人を、二例紹介。
【第４章】
謎めいた海外の遺骨を、二例紹介。
【第５章】
著者である片山氏の、発掘や研究の数々について。
この本全体に言えることは、「通常の埋葬ではない人骨から、その死因や背景について探る」、そんな意図が感じられます。
だから、”縄文人と「弥生人」”については、この本のごく一部でしかないのです。
ちょっと不満もありますが、仕方がありません・・・、安かったから・・・。
ではなくて、内容を把握していなかった訳ですから。
そういう訳で、途中で挫折しました。
第４章の後半を飛ばし、第５章へ進みました。
それでも、得るものはありましたから良いのです。
せっかくなので、第１章と第２章の半分について、まとめて見ようと思います。もちろん、次回に・・・。
