テールランプをＬＥＤバルブへ交換④－SMD39連をようやく実装 ― 2011/04/06 14:42
なんとなく気が乗らず、また、できれば薄暗い時間以降に時間がとれずに、放置していたテールランプ用のＬＥＤバルブ（ＳＭＤ３９連）ですが、ようやく実装することができました。
前回、載せた画像と同じですが、こんなのです。↓

そして、約１年間使い続けてきた、砲弾型ＬＥＤ２１連のバルブがこれです。↓（これも、過去に載せた画像です。）
【明るさの比較①（Low）】
左側は今までどおり砲弾型２１連、右側をSMD39連にして、その明るさを比較してみました。
まずは、ブレーキを踏まない、明るさの低い状態です。
上が砲弾型２１連、下がＳＭＤ３９連です。
大して違いが感じられませんね。
でも、よく見ると、砲弾型２１連の方が若干明るいような気がします。直接、見たときも、”何となく”そんな気がしました。

いわゆる”どんぐりの背比べ”状態ですが、ＳＭＤ３９連の方が、ブレーキ時に明るいということで、ＳＭＤ３９連の方が良い、ということにしましょう。
しかし、よくよく思い出してみると、前回の記事「テール・ランプをＬＥＤバルブへ交換③」では、ＳＭＤ３９連の方が、１．５～１．７倍消費電力が増えていたハズ。
その割には、光量が増した気がしませんね。
でも、良しとしましょう・・・、次に述べる理由があるので・・。
【テールランプを交換する本当の理由】

本音を言えば、ＳＭＤ３９連が砲弾型２１連に対して、見劣りしない程度に、同等であれば、”合格”だったんです。
もちろん、”あわよくば”という期待はありましたが、それには、もう少し出すものを出さないといけません。
実は、砲弾型２１連の”ウェッジベース”を流用したかったんです。
３ＷのＬＥＤを使ったバックランプ（試作③ですね）を、一つ試作した事を、以前書きましたが、それをもうひとつ作る準備ができつつあったんです。
しかし、ウェッジベースだけが、どうにも手頃に入手できそうもなくて、どうしたものかと。
しかも、定電流回路を、ウェッジベースの中に収める都合上、寸法がはっきりしていないと、使えるかどうか分からないのです。
試作に使ったのは、まさに砲弾型２１連の”不良品”から流用したものなので、間違いありません。
いっその事、もう一組、砲弾型２１連を買って、一つ潰そうかとも思ったのですが、ちょっと勿体ない。
同じ潰すにしても、新しいテールランプに交換した後の”お古”であれば、まぁいいかなと。
そういう訳で、砲弾型ＬＥＤを使った、とても見た目の悪い前試作バックランプ（試作②）の退役が近づいてきた、ということです。
