車の低消費電力化を目指し、照明関係の電球を、ＬＥＤへ交換できないものかと、模索しています。
以前は、交換用のＬＥＤバルブの値段の高さに、半ば諦めていたのですが、ネット・オークションで扱われている商品の中には、思いのほか安価なものがあることを知り、ふつふつとやる気が出てきた、という訳です。
ネット・オークションでは、現物を確認できないので、実際のところどんなものが来るのか、ちょっと不安があります。
もちろん、出品者への疑いという意味ではありませんが、画像と説明だけでは、判断しきれない部分があるかも知れません。
そんな中、とても安価な商品を見つけたので、試しに落札してみました。 それが、これ↓です。

画像は、安定化電源による点灯試験の様子で、分かりにくいと思いますが、前面に９つのＬＥＤと、側面を取り囲むように、６つのＬＥＤが２列、合計２１個のＬＥＤが使用されています。
また、これは、Ｔ２０と言われるソケット形状の物で、明るさが二段階に変わる、ダブル球に相当します。
【消費電力】
気になる消費電力ですが、商品の説明には何も記載されていないので、消費電流を測定してみます。
電圧１２Ｖ：光度（低）－約２８ｍＡ（約０．３４Ｗ）
：光度（高）－約８０ｍＡ（約１．０Ｗ）
通常、使用されている電球は、「１２Ｖ２１／５Ｗ」と表示されている物で、光度が低いときには５Ｗ、高いときには２１Ｗの消費電力になるものと思われます。
ＬＥＤに交換することにより、１／１４～１／２１の消費電力に減少する可能性があります。
ちなみに、エンジンが始動しており、発電機が回っていれば、その際のバッテリー電圧は若干高くなります。
１４Ｖから１４．５Ｖくらいまで、上昇するようなので、試しに電圧を上げて、消費電流を測定してみました。
電圧１４Ｖ：光度（低）－約３９ｍＡ（約０．５５Ｗ）
：光度（高）－約１１２ｍＡ（約１．６Ｗ）
電圧が１２Ｖの時と比べて、消費電流が上昇したので、消費電力としても増加したことになります。
それでも、電球に比べて１／１０くらいの減少は見込めそうです。
【明るさ】
問題は、明るさです。
消費電力が下がっても、明るさも下がっていては、あまり意味がありません。
分かりづらいとは思いますが、通常の電球の明るさが、これ↓です。
